Was just recalling my neurology rotation with Dr. Gerber many, many years ago and learned he passed. He was an exceptional physician and teacher - brilliant, thorough, compassionate, and inspiring. May his memory be a blessing to all.

I first met Dr. Gerber I believe in 2007 and he treated me for several years after that. He also treated my grandmother following her strokes. He Was a brilliant, had a great sense of humor and very proactive in my care. I was a difficult case and he did relay that to me in those words. He wouldn’t give up and he eventually found out what my condition was when nobody else could. I will always remember him as he is probably the best doctor I have ever come across in my 54 years of life. As new symptoms came about in the past few months, I looked him up to schedule an appointment with him, that’s when I came across his obituary. My heart goes out to his entire family. You were very lucky to have Oded in your life. He truly was a wonderful man and his memory will always live on.

Dr Gerber saved my fathers life when he had a stroke many years ago. He was a wonderful doctor who agreed to take on my fathers case when he was truly facing a grim prognosis.. Under Dr Gerbers care my father fully recovered. My Dad would always look foward to his appointments with this gentleman..we always left feeling that although my father was just one of his many patients.... we were treated like his only patient.. He answered every question and spent whatever time we needed to feel comfortable about his treatment plan. We were lucky to have a doctor so devoted and so dedicated to his practice. The medical profession has lost a true gem. My condolences to his family for your loss.

I , as did Maryann, screened patients for the same acute rehab. Dr Gerber would always make himself available to educate me re: any concerns I had. He never made me feel that I was in the way; rather a part of the team. I am sorry for your loss of this lovely man.

In 2011 I had a TMI and was rushed to stony brook hospital. Dr Gerber was wonderful, funny and caring. All these years later I still remember him. All the nurses told me he was the best. God bless him.

I met Dr. Gerber at Stony Brook Hospital while screening patients for acute rehabilitation. He was a true patient advocate-kind and professional -always taking the time to explain neurological nuances. I admired and respected him as did so many others. To his family, I am so sorry for your loss.
