Dr. Choi was a very kind, caring man. He was a wonderful doctor who I trusted 100% and performed surgery on my wife, myself, and also cared for my son. Our community has lost a great person in every respect. I will miss him dearly.

Those of us who had the privilege of being under Dr. Choi's care know the magnitude of this loss. Not only was Dr. Choi a brilliant surgeon, he was a brilliant human being- kind, compassionate, honest and sincere. My heart goes out to the entire Choi family.

Dr.Choi was not only an outstanding surgeon but one of the most compassionate people I have ever met. Even though he was going through his own illness he was still there for his patients and always with a smile on his face. I will miss him not only as my orthopedic doctor but as someone that I could laugh with and talk about our kids with. R.I.P. and we now have another angel looking over us.

Paul Choi was a wonderful friend to me and my son. He was supportive and encouraging of my music. He always had a kind word to say when we spoke about the difficulties of being a single mother. I was so glad to have known him and shared some lovely meals with him. I will greatly miss you Paul.

For Paul:
Under the wide and starry sky,
Scatter me to the winds where once I walked,
Glad did I live and gladly die,
And I laid me down with a will.
This be the verse you grave for me:
Here he lies where he longed to be;
Home is the sailor, home from the sea,
And the hunter home from the hill
(with apologies to Robert Louis Stevenson)
Paul, my brother, my protector, my friend, you will always be in my heart

I met Paul at Upstate Med. Cnt. in 1971. I was his intern. Since then we have been frends and have shared many wonderful experiences. I have much to thank Paul for. First and foremost for being such a loyal and long friend. He taught me so much during my internship year and after. He was an exceptional surgeon even when he was a first year resident and it only got better. I recall one night we were supposed to do the preliminary part of a Choleycystectomy and then the surgeon was going to come in to do the procedure. Paul had the entire surgery done before the surgeon could finish scrubbing. Not only was he a masterful technician but he had impeccable judgment and morals and compassion. He always put the patients well being above anything else including and especially the economic issues. He was not afraid to tell patient or referring doctor if the procedure was not necessary. If he disagreed with you he was always a gentlemen.
In addiltion to his interest in medicine he was truely a Renaissance man. His interest in the arts, music, crafts, classic literature and history were amazing.
One very memorable experience I have was when he and Gloria and Desrye were in Rochester and I was in Syracuse we were invited to spend a weekend with them at one of the Finger Lakes. Paul ask me if I wanted to go on a canoe ride on the lake. I said" sure". We went out on the lake and the canoe capsized. "No big deal, rlght?" Well, what Paul failed to tell me was that he could not swim. Fortunately the boat owner saw us and came to rescue us. I can't tell you what my reaction to this piece of info was. This was the only "weird " experence I ever had with Paul. There were many wonderful memories and conversations.
Tru;ely he mill be missed by me and my family. He was truely a wonderful friend.
"Goodbye, Paul, Thanks for the memories"

I have known Dr. Paul Choi in the Huntington Medical Group, Huntington, NY,.for many, many years. My husband was given a new lease on life after an innovative back surgery in 2004. My son, had a broken ankle requiring pins and screws but Dr. Choi made it effortless. As for me, this man, who I believe, had hands and a heart blessed and guided by God, treated me for several injuries incurred by accidents. His generosity of spirit and his obvious brilliance, endeared him to all of us..He has been taken much too soon, because he had much more work to do. I pray he is looking down on us today and is another Angel looking over all of those people blessed by his touch..You will so be missed by us. The Termini Family
