(Isabel). Adored grandfather of Nicholas, Gabrielle, and Francesca. Retired teacher from the Hicksville School District. Reposing Friday, 2-4pm and 7-9pm, at Commack Abbey Inc., 96 Commack Road, Commack, NY. Mass of a Christian Burial Saturday, 9:30am, at Christ the King R.C. Church, Commack, NY. Interment St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.

I am retired in SC and a friend mentioned your dad's passing. Mr Vetrano was a teaching pro. One of a few this introverted teen woke up and paid attention to in an oversized high school. His Media class was light years ahead in how the news manipulates instead of telling the news. If I had been fortunate enough to know he belonged to CTK parish as I did for forty years, I would have sought him out to tell him. As he wrote in my yearbook, to "one of my favorite fellow Mets fans"..."I hope I opened doors of awareness". Well, they had a good last year for him and yes, he opened those doors for me. May your dad rest in eternal peace, and your family have comfort in the good he did for his pupils

I still remember him as one of the best history teachers from my time at the high school. I graduated in 1966...so to remember him from that long ago shows what an excellent teacher he was. sorry to hear of his loss....

`72 I had the privilege of taking Mr Vetrano´s Contemporary World Problems class in 12th grade. Excellent and fair teacher. Enjoyed taking his interesting class.

I worked with Paul as a fellow teacher for 30 years in Hicksville High School. I admired Paul as an excellent teacher, his values, family man, Christian, and his behavior as a person. He was always pleasant, considerate, polite, in control and an excellent role model for a young teacher
Hicksville High school was blessed to have him on staff, and I was blessed to know him and work with him.
Paul will be missed by his family, many students and other teachers such as I.
God bless you Paul.

A great teacher and one of a handful decent people that I met in Long Island. He made my stay there more tolerable. I know he is in heaven with his wife and parents. He will always be remembered by the thousands of students whose lives he touched over the years of his career. Descanse en paz.

I´m so sorry to hear of Mr Vetrano´s passing. He was an awesome teacher!! I had him back in 1985 as my Social Studies teacher. I loved history and he made it even better. He was gentle and funny and I truly enjoyed him as a person and educator. I´m so sorry for your loss!
