Peter Valkavich Obituary

VALKAVICH - Peter, of Ronkonkoma, NY on January 7, 2009 in his 68th year. Beloved father of Peter, Dawn and Paul. Loving grandfather of Tyler, Ashley, Zachary, and Michaela Valkavich and Vernon Bauer. Peter was a retired Nassau County police officer. He spent his retirement the way one should, filling his days with hunting, fishing, clamming and commiserating with friends. Although nicknamed "Oscar the Grouch", Peter was a caring and considerate person who always made time for his family and friends. Anyone who knew him would tell you that his nickname was truly a facade and that his heart and soul were kind and true. He touched many lives with his stories and tutelage which is evident in the wealth of friends that he will leave behind. The knowledge that he shared for the sport of hunting and fishing will be passed down for many generations to come. Reposing Moloney's Lake Funeral Home, 132 Ronkonkoma Ave., Lake Ronkonkoma, NY 11779 where religious services will be held Saturday 2pm. Cremation Nassau-Suffolk Crematory Lake Ronkonkoma, NY. Visiting Friday 2-4 and 7-9pm and Saturday 12-2pm. www.moloneyfh.com
