My heart goes out to Rick's family. I had the pleasure of knowing Rick for many years, both in New York and Florida. He was a wonderful, generous friend. I will miss him dearly.

It is sad to learn of Rick's passing, my sympathies to his mom and family. I will always hold close my memories of Rick, my closest friend from High School. Back then his aspiration to write novels challenged me to interpret my thoughts from a different artistic perspective. We discussed many a dream together, debated the politics of the Nixon-Ford era, and had the pleasure of experiencing many life changing adventures. Our contemporary Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer spirited moments included; boating, swimming, and beaching with friends in Port Jefferson Harbor, tooling around in the '64 T-Bird, taking a two week hike to Upstate NY, and pulling off a NYC plane & helicopter ride to the PJHS prom. Rick's sarcastic sense of humor was infectious, along with his pranking made smiling and laughing uncontrollable. I can see him now giving me that pause, you know that look, right after delivering his comic loaded line, followed by him slapping his knee and laughing uncontrollably. Thank you Rick for sharing a part of your life with me and our friends. I wish we could have been longtime friends. It was good to see you months ago, I hope to see you on the other side and share many more laughs once again. Your old friend, Ralph Edberg.
