Ronald LENKOWSKY Obituary

LENKOWSKY - Dr. Ronald, 71, of Old Bethpage, died February 20, 2014 with his family by his side. The son of Reuben and Lucille Lenkowsky was born Feb. 20, 1943, in Brooklyn, New York. Ron graduated from Brooklyn College and received his Master's and Doctorate degrees from Teacher's College, Columbia University. Ron dedicated his life to helping adults and children with disabilities, running educational and treatment programs for the cognitively and physically disabled. Ron retired as Director of The New York League for Early Learning (NYL). Ron was also a respected adjunct professor at Hunter College. Ron is survived by his mother Lucille, brother Martin, wife Barbara, whom he wed on September 4, 1966. He is also survived by his son Adam; Adam's wife Candice; daughter Jenna; and four grandchildren, Andrew, Jack, Jake and Ryan. Funeral Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Sunday at Gutterman's Funeral Home in Woodbury, Long Island. Burial will be hed at 1 p.m. at New Cedar Park Cemetery in Paramus, New Jersey.
