I just only found out today about Dr. Stephen's passing. My Husband, Son and I are just heartbroken for all of his family, friends, coworkers, and staff. He was always so sweet with my son. Looking at his pictures, you can see that he was someone who loved his family, loved his work, and loved life. May he rest in peace. Our deepest sympthies to everyone who knew and loved him.

My deepest condolences to the Grello family and all of his staff. I had just found out today of his passing and was truly shocked and saddened to hear of this. He was the first person I went to when I was pregnant and thought he was the most caring and personable doctor I have met and then decided to choose him as my daughters pediatrician. The world has lost a great and loving human being! His wonderful memories will last forever in the minds of those he encountered. He cannot be forgotten! His wonderful ways, and his dear and caring words of comfort will always be dear to my heart! My thoughts and prayers are with all those that loved him! I remember having to wait outside the door of an examination room because my daughter HAD to show her favorite doctor how well she learned to snap her fingers!!! He made such a fuss, you'd think she had just gotten an olympic gold medal! We will always remember you!!!

I was one of the nurses for this wonderful, kind, and humble man. I can see from the messages, that he was a beloved doctor, he was also a beloved patient. Although he spent much time in my hospital, I only cared for him a few nights but that was enough for him and his family to make an impact on me. Dr. Stephen Grello always treated my boys with love and care. I once called to find out what were tests results for my youngest and he not only quickly took my call and patiently answered all my questions but he even offered to call me back later if i still had any concerns! Such a generous and sweet spirit. I pray for God's comfort for his beautiful family. He was unique and will be sorely missed.

i am so sorry to hear of stephens passing i had stephen as my dr since i was new born and it hurts to see that hes gone i know i always stressed myself out i didnt like suffolk community college and would call saying i didnt feel well he wouldnt let me go home to go there until i went to class and he kept me on track he was so great with me never gave me a hard time when i needed to come in for my ears or throat or sinuses always took me no matter what he kept up with my report cards school and what was stressing me out because he knew sometimes i wasnt sick and helped me to talk about it and made it better he always filled medicine for me no matter what was wrong the days he was out i had ciro also fantastic with me always i loved ciro and stephen never wanted a new dr at the practice stephen made sure that never happened he always smiled no matter if he was upset over weight or school grades he kept calm and talked to me about me he was so happy to see how i loved the practice then i got to meet mrs cohen maggie grello she was my teacher for a year and we clicked it meant so much to me ! i loved grellos staff tara r<3 and leola <3 margarette<3 grandma eleanor my grandmas bff<3 i was lucky to have been a patient of grellos!! ill miss you dr steve puts tears in my eyes miss you rip <3 your an angel now

I was so sad to learn of Dr. Stephen's passing! He was recommended to us by a friend and was such a kindhearted doctor. Even when he was struggling with his illness, he wanted the focus to be on his patients, not himself. He will be truly missed.

What an amazing Dr you were! Even after we left the practice and switched to Dr Woletsky you were the covering Dr when I called and I was so happy to get you on the phone. My heart goes out to the entire Grello family. My boys started out with Fred Sr, & I stayed till last year until my youngest was 19 . I used to live in Bayshore but moved to East Northport & continued to use Grello Pediatrics. He had a wonderful bedside manner. Dr Steve was always warm & made you feel like a family member.. When my husband died suddenly several years ago , he made sure what ever I needed when I called was taken care of. I'm sorry he suffered . He will be missed.,

We are heart broken over the news of Dr Stephen Grello. To know him was to love him, and how true that is.
I started my journey into motherhood with Dr Ciro and Dr Stephen and my heart just breaks to think he will no longer be there. He always found a way to connect with people and most importantly our children. I cannot tell you how many exams he has done on teddy bears that my kids would say were the patient and not them. He would always play along!
Even though there was a packed waiting room you felt like the only family he cared for.
Thank you for the laughter and the opportunity to start my life as a mother with you.

A jovial, great guy all around. A real cutie patootie! Stephen Grello's laughter lingered throughout the hallways at Fifth Avenue, South Country, Bay Shore Jr. High and High School. He had an amazing disposition ALL the time! The last time I saw Stephen, I was riding my bike down Union Blvd. from Bay Shore towards Brightwaters, during a break from College. I hear this honking sound. I look and see someone waving and when I catch a glimpse of that infamous, grand smile, it registers instantly that it's no other than Stephen Grello! From his car, he gestured for me to turn on a side street, which I gladly obliged. Greeted with a compliment, we spoke and had a nice conversation...so easy to talk to him! I remember Stephen sharing how he loved Villanova. As a Mother, my heavy heart goes out to Stephen and Jen's darling daughters and, of course, to Stephen's parents and to Jen. Years ago, I heard that Jen and Steve got married. What a beautiful Bay Shore/Brightwaters love story! I can't even imagine what Jen is going through! I wish I had a magic wand to bring Steve back and to take away Jen's deep pain. Anyone who knew Stephen would know that he would only want Jen to be happy, smiling, and laughing. Jen, please be kind and gentle to yourself during the grieving process. That also goes for Stephen's parents, siblings, in-laws, and dear friends. John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Jr., John Lennon, Lynn Clark, and Stephen Grello left us way too soon! May their legacy live on!

My husband and I were shocked to hear of Stephen's passing. He was such an awesome guy and such a wonderful and caring doctor. I am sitting in Baltimore airport on my way to say goodbye and still numb from this news about a long time friend that was one of the best people I have ever met. Stephen and I grew up together, playing sports, working together at Kismet and clamming in the Great South Bay for 2 summers. The memories are clear and seem like yesterday. I am not big with words but my heart goes out to Jen, the girls and all of Stephen's family and friends. One of the "great" ones was robbed and I think he is in a better place right now and I know we will re-connect in the future.

Fun times on the school bus we shared for 10+ years; good times skating on the Brightwaters Lakes; listening to Stephen and Beth D. in Dr. Faggani's 10th grade English class debate which college basketball was better (Georgetown...Stephen's choice as he had an older sibling there and Beth's choice was Villanova as her older sister was enrolled there)...Villanova won the NCAA tournament that year and how "wild"that two years later Stephen became a Villanova Wildcat. I also have great memories of Stephen's laugh and a weekend ski trip with him and a bunch of good high school friends. It's been many years since seeing Jen and I am sending tons of prayers and hugs to Jen, their girls and the extended Grello and Rossetti families! You are all in my thoughts!
