Stephen Joseph Marando "Mara" Marando

Marando - Stephen Joseph "Mara" Marando, son of the late Joseph Marando and Lillian "Girlie" Costa Marando born in Brooklyn, NY. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 38 years, Patricia Cronk Marando; two sons from a previous marriage, Stephen and Michael; three grandsons, Evan, Donald, and Nicholas. Steve had a passion for speed with cars, boats and flying. Steve with his father owned and operated Mara Tires, Copaigue, NY, Mara Tire Cycle Center, Lindenhurst, NY. and S&J Auto. He operated the Sea Tel bar and restaurant in Ocean Beach, NY in the early '70s. After relocating to Florida, Steve enjoyed spending time at home, on the golf course, on his boat, or traveling in their RV. He had a passion for painting and woodworking, making model sailing ships and furniture. He had a passion for life. Funeral services will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church 7525 S U.S. Highway 41, Dunnellon, FL 34432 on Monday, October 13, 2025 at 11am. A celebration of life will be held in New York at a later date. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Steve's favorite charity OHAR OPEN HANDS ANIMAL RESCUE a 501(c)(3) organization.
