Suzanne Brennan Obituary

Brennan - Suzanne Mary (aka 'Beans'), age 74, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2023, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and an extraordinary friend. Suz was born on October 26, 1949, in New Rochelle, NY, the daughter of Ruth and Donal Mahoney. She grew up in Westbury, NY with her parents and three siblings, Ruthanne, Donal, and Dolores. Suz graduated from St. John's University in 1973 and earned her master's in education and professional diploma in school psychology. Around this time, she met the love of her life, Lawrence J. Brennan. They were married in 1976, moved to Garden City, NY, and never left each other's side. Suz was a teacher for nearly 20 years at Westbury Middle School and went on to become chair of the reading department. Suz and Larry's son Gavin was born in 1987 and their daughter Erin in 1990. She is lovingly remembered by her beloved husband of 47 years, Larry; son Gavin, his wife Lizzie, and grandson Freddie; daughter Erin Stump and her husband Erik. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her dearest Freddie, and she was so excited to welcome Erin and Erik's first child this coming March (a daughter). She is also survived by her sister Dolores McDonnell (Joe), and children Kaila, Conor, Kelly, and Liana; sister Ruthanne Boehmcke (Bruce), and son Greg (Amy), and their children Brody and Shea; brother Donal Mahoney (Patty), and son Donal; niece Colleen Brennan (John), and her son Connor. Suz's unforgettable spirit and generosity will live on through her loved ones forever. For funeral details, please visit Fairchild Sons Funeral Home's website at fairchildfuneral.com.

Dear Larry and family-
We were so sad to hear of the passing of Suzanne. It brought back memories of long ago play groups and Christmas time at the Hopkins“ with Joe Carney as the stern but always forgiving Santa. She will be remembered. Love,
Cathy and Bill Gray
