Thomas Edwin Caner

Caner - Thomas Edwin, 63, passed from this life on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at Edenton Retirement Center in Frederick, Maryland. He was the husband of the late Debbie Caner, who preceded him in death in January 2008. Born on October 14, 1959, in Bethpage, NY, he was the son of Edwin Thomas Caner and Eileen (Devine) Caner. He was a 1977 graduate of Plainedge High School and graduated from Hofstra University in 1981. Thomas was an accountant with Holtz, Rubenstien and Reminick, which later became Baker Tilly, from 1981 until 2016, when he joined Schultheis & Panettieri, LLP. Mr. Caner enjoyed learning history and watching "Mystery Science Theater 3000" as well as being an aficionado of bad movies. Mr. Caner is survived by his daughter, Mary Dixon and husband Joel; a granddaughter, Eleanor Dixon; and a brother, Tim Caner. He was also preceded in death by a long-term girlfriend, Robin Schild, in November 2022. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sophie and Madigan's Playground, P.O. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Oposssumtown Pike, Frederick. The service will be livestreamed.
