Tom DiCANIO Obituary

DiCANIO - Tom, 87 of East Meadow, New York passed away on Saturday April 19. Born in Brooklyn, New York; Tom served the City of New York in theController's Office for 68 years in Central Payroll and OfficeInformation Systems. Tom also worked weekends as an usher at Madison Square Garden for over 50 years. He will be remembered for his love, humor and devotion to his family "I treat people the way I want my wife and children to be treated with respect and caring". Tom was pre-deceased by his wife; Jean, who he loved and honored all his life. Survived by his sons and daughters-in-law Tom Jr. (Patricia), Jerry (Michele) and Jack (Michele). Sharing a special place forever in his heart; Grandchildren Genie, Megan, Katharine, Drew, Jack Jr., Bobby and Great Grand Daughter Emma. Visitation will be held on Friday 4-9 PM at the Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Homes, Levittown Chapel, 2786 Hempstead Tpke. (2 blks east of Wantagh Pkwy) A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday 9am at the Roman Catholic Church of the Sacred Heart, 720 Merrick Avenue, North Merrick,NY 11566 with the burial to follow in St Charles/ Resurrection Cemetery, 2515 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, Long Island. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made in the name of Tom and Jean DiCanio to the National Organization: Breast Friends: helping women survive the trauma of cancer-one friend at a time http://www.breastfriends.org/
