DeVRIES-William H., M.D. (72 years) on January 13, 2005 peacefully in his home. Beloved husband of Jo-Ann. Devoted and proud Dad and Step-Dad of: Marjorie DeVries (Joseph Kravitz), Suzanne Sullivan (Gerard), William (Angela), Patricia Kocagil (Ahmet), Jennifer Boyer (Jon), Janine Pollock Hoyte (Patrick), Christopher Pollock (Gay), Brian Pollock (Denise Walls), and Kevin Pollock. Also survived by his mother Lisle DeVries, sister Diane Hansen (Steve) and niece Monica LoBue (Scot). Predeceased by Matthew Pollock. Adored and cherished "Pa/Dede" to Steven and Scott Kravitz, Brendan, Bridget, Deirdre and Conor Sullivan, Ron and Ashley McKnight, Alec and Andrew DeVries, Nedim, Kenan and Reyya Kocagil, Abigail Boyer, Christopher, Hope, Gray and Geist Pollock, and Jordin Pollock. Dr. DeVries practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mercy Hospital in Rockville Centre, NY where he served as President of the Medical Staff from 1992-1993. Dr. DeVries retired to St. Augustine, FL in 1993. He remained an avid fisherman but his primary enjoyment was traveling the United States in his motor home. Dr. DeVries was a humble, gracious, compassionate man. He was blessed with a wonderful family, a career he enjoyed, an absolute love for life and wonder at the beauty of his country. He will be sadly missed but warmly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Arrangements entrusted to the Craig Funeral Home, 1475 Old Dixie Highway, St. Augustine, FL 32084.
