Steven Jay Vogel, 67, of Everton, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2022.
He was born December 12, 1954 in Indianapolis, the son of Daniel and Dorothy Gill Vogel, and had resided in the Indianapolis and Mooresville, Indiana area for most of his life.
A machinist, he had co-owned a machine shop in Indianapolis until his retirement four years ago. He then moved to Everton where he became president and caretaker of Cracker Ridge, a family-owned recreational camping retreat in the Metamora area.
Survivors include two children, Crystal (Seth) Musen of Indianapolis and Obadiah Vogel of Walterboro, South Carolina; seven grandchildren, Julia (Jeff) Clendening of Colorado, Cadence, Emma, Vega, and Elsa Musen, all of Indianapolis, and Colin and Lilly Vogel of Greenfield, Indiana; seven siblings, David (Cathy) Vogel of Indiana, Cathy Shimer of Indianapolis, James Vogel of Pittsboro, Indiana, Dennis (Theresa) Vogel of Indianapolis, Robyn Welcher of Indiana, Jeff (Tina) Williams of Mooresville, and Shannon Cook of Indianapolis; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife of twenty-five years, Jacquelyn Vogel, who passed away January 22, 2015; his parents; and a brother-in-law, Don Shimer.
There will be no services. Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
