Billy Strickland Obituary
He was born July 6, 1938 in Florien, Louisiana to the late Loy and Marie Strickland. Billy served for 23 years in the United States Air Force and was a sheet metal engineer for military contracting until his retirement. Billy was a member of the Shriners and Masons. He was an avid square dancer and enjoyed fishing, gardening, traveling and tinkering with items around his home. If you had a question, he always had the answer.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Ruth Jeanetta Strickland; his parents; and brother, Charles 'Buddy' Strickland.
Those left to cherish Billy's memory include his lovely wife of 3 years, Sue Strickland; son, John Wade Strickland (Nickole); daughter, Pam Landingham (Danny); grandchild, Sheri Strickland (Nora); step children, Barry Ritter (Christine) and Tina Warner (Bill); sisters, Charlotte Anne Pleasant (Jimmy Ray) and Rose Marie Neel (Donnie); cherished, extended family, Christina, Jenna, and Talen; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will begin 1:00 P.M., Friday, February 15, 2019 at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Teas officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 P.M. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
