Charles Seal Obituary

Charles "CHIP" Aubra Seal III, age 50, of Panama City Beach, passed away at home on January 3, 2017, surrounded by family and friends.

Chip was born on September 3, 1966, to Chuck and Virginia Seal, and has been a lifetime resident of Panama City.

Chip was a loving Husband and Father with an overwhelming bubbly personality. When you met Chip for the first time, you never forgot him! He always had a smile on his face and a laugh that was unforgettable. Plus, if anyone could turn a negative situation into a positive one, that would be Chip! He was just one of those personalities that kept you intrigued by his stories and always wanting to hear more.

He is survived by his wife, Amy, of 18 years, their daughter Addie, and their son Gabe. He is also survived by his mother, Virginia Seal and father-in-law, Buddy Wilkes (Nancy); sisters, Merrie Dawn Allen and Karen Simonsen (John); brother, Chris Seal (JonAnn); brother-in-law, Michael Wilkes (April); sister-in-law, Jamie Hall (Alan); along with many other family members.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Aubra Seal Jr.; mother-in-law, Paula Lemmo; brother-in-law, Derrel Allen and other beloved family members.

Growing up here, Chip developed friendships from all over and was a mentor to many. He graduated from Mosley High School, then extended his education at Gulf Coast Community College and finally Florida State University.

He was a valued employee for the PCB Convention Visitors Bureau where he contributed in spreading the word and promoting Panama City Beach and Bay County to the rest of the world. He truly enjoyed his job and the many people he met along the way.

His father, Coach Chuck Seal, was a great influence for Chip's love of all sports. Following in his dad's footsteps, he himself would later coach at the Boy's Club as a young adult. He started playing sports at an early age with Peewee Football, Boy's Club Basketball and Little League Baseball. He continued participating in these sports throughout his days at Mosley High School. After High School, he picked up Beach and Indoor Volleyball; as well as, his love for the game of golf. Having gone to Florida State University, he was an avid Seminole Fan and a devout supporter of the Dallas Cowboys. In fact, in his final days he was surrounded by family and friends cheering on the Seminoles in the Orange Bowl of 2016.

Chip was a Christian man that grew up in the First Baptist Church of Panama City before he and his family moved their membership to Northstar Church, whom longtime friend Marty Martin presides as the Pastor.

Amy's family would like to offer a special thanks to all the Staff at M.D. Anderson (Houston), Emerald Coast Hospice Volunteers, the love and support of all their family and friends; especially, with much gratitude to Aunt Charlotte and George Gilman for extending their home while receiving treatment at M.D. Anderson.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Panama City in the main auditorium with Reverend Marty Martin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Northstar Church of Panama City in memory of Chip Seal. Chip and the Seal Family have been lifelong friends to our family. Growing up, I watched as Chuck and Virginia Seal led godly examples for all to see and Chip certainly followed their lead. Today, because of Christ, we grieve with hope and the assurance that Chip is safely home. Thank you my friend for showing so many the way!

Chip has been through a lot with his cancer. We do not understand God's reasoning at times but He did say that He would walk through the valleys that we might be facing and we will see Chip and Chuck again in Heaven. We love you Virginia.
