Cindi Rahn Obituary

Cindi K. (Donaldson) Rahn, 47, of Panama City Beach, Fla., formerly of Lincoln, Neb., passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at home from complications of liver disease. Cindi was born Sept. 30, 1963, in Warwick, R.I., to Robert J. and Betty M. (Nelson) Donaldson, and moved to Lincoln, Neb., in 1970. A student of Southeast High School, she graduated in 1981. After graduation, she relocated to Panama City Beach, Fla., in the mid-1980s, a destination she fell in love with after many special vacations with family. Above all, her greatest gifts and joys are her twin boys, Brennen and Garrett. She will be greatly missed by all. There will forever be an empty place in all of our hearts. For several years, Cindi worked as a nail technician for salons in Panama City Beach, Fla. She was a passionate racecar enthusiast of NASCAR and Indy 500, and huge fan of Nebraska Football. Cindi was a member of Saint Bernadette's Catholic Church in Panama City Beach, Fla. Survivors include sons, Brennen and Garrett Rahn of Lynn Haven, Fla.; mother, Betty Donaldson of Lincoln, Neb.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Melanie and Jerry Zurovski of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Tricia and Michael Moore of Coralville, Iowa; brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Kim Donaldson of Johnston, Iowa; nieces, Emily Gish, Elaine Zurovski, Allyson Bittner and Mikaela Donaldson; nephews, Matthew Donaldson and Adam Moore; great-nieces, Caitlyn and Hannah Gish; great-nephew, Brody Gish; aunts, Alice Costa of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Shirley Pace of Omaha, Neb.; and her special cousins. Cindi was my closest cousin growing up. My only cousin my age. I have lots of fond memories of begging our parents to let her stay the night and not go back to Lincoln! We had great imaginations and so much fun. I'm sad we were not close as adults, but life and distance can get in the way. I'm sure she was a great mom, she had a very good example of love set for her by her own parents. Cindi was deeply loved...even from a distance. I miss my childhood buddy and will cherish my memories of our time together. I know she is in a happy and beautiful place now with her "Daddy".

Our family is saddened to learn of the loss of our dear neighbor and friend. Our son Quinn considered Ms. Cindi as one of the sweetest people in his life. Quinn's friendship with Brennan and Garrett is one that he waited anxiously for everyday as they split time between their two homes. Our houses were open doors and the boys ran freely from house to house causing Cindi and I to laugh heartily at their escapades. They built forts, had water balloon fights, played games and we loved watching. I will miss having her in our lives. Her smile was contagious and she loved her boys dearly. Please keep us posted on any services held here in PCB. Quinn found a photo of her today on his game. Brennan took a self portrait of he and his mom. I'd love to get a copy to you. We love and are praying for you during this difficult time.

I have so many special memories of growing up with Cindi. We certainly shared a lot of laughs - and a lot of love. She was such a special cousin to me. I feel great peace knowing she is in the arms of Uncle Bob again. Sending our prayers to Aunt Betty, Melanie, Tricia, Tom and your families.
