David Bohannan Obituary

David H. Bohannan, 86, of Lynn Haven, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2020. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Peggy. They had 3 children, Terry Bohannan (Barbara), Jerry Bohannan (Jolene) and Sherry Jones (Michael); 7 grandchildren, Shane Bohannan, Jeremy Bohannan, Justin Smith, Conner Jones, Jan Beratowski, Michelle Beratowski and John Michael Beratowski; 4 great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Bohannan, Stetson Smith, Oakley Smith, and Luca Voyle.
David was born November 20, 1933, and grew up in Goodwater, AL. After graduation from high school he joined the US Air Force, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant after 20 years service. After retirement, he returned to Alabama where he raised cows which he loved. He also worked as a professor at Nunnley State Technical College and at the Anniston Army Depot, retiring a second time.
David then moved to Florida in 2013, enjoying fishing, going out to eat, and spending time with his family. He was a member of the State Avenue Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery with US Air Force Honors offered by Tyndall AFB. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00.
