Howard Geradine Obituary
Howard Douglas Geradine, 86, of Panama City Beach passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013, at a local nursing home.
He was a member of Convention City Lions Club. He was also a member of the Woodlawn United Methodist Church and was an usher for 25 years. Howard served in the U.S. Navy during WW II serving on the USS Chehalis AOG 48. He retired from the federal government after a 33 year career. He loved all kinds of woodworking and loved to coach little league baseball. He was a volunteer firefighter for Beavercreek, Ohio, and also for Bay Point.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents, William and Nellie Geradine and 2 brothers, Russell and Bruce Geradine. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Norma J. Lackey Geradine; son, D. Scott Geradine (Shawn); 2 grandchildren, Daniel and Christopher Geradine; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Irwin officiating. Interment will follow the service at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors and friends on Tuesday evening, April 30, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Howard was a good and kind hearted man. I will always remember him cheering on the Woodlawn UMC softball team,especially in 1991 when Scott and I were part of the team that won the Church League Championship. Olivia and I had noticed of late his absence in the rows in front of us at church at the ll am service. He was a great usher and always had a kind word. He will be missed. From one sailor to another I wish him Fair Winds and Following Seas. I know he is already experiencing this in Heaven.
