It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph "Joey" Bryan Medrano, announces his sudden passing on June 24, 2013. Joey was born on August 11, 1991, in Soesterberg, Holland to parents, Joseph and Ursula Medrano. Joey's mother always referred to him as her "fragile little boy," as he was soft spoken and suffered from Epilepsy. Joey loved to skateboard and had a passion for music. His soul shined through his fingers as he played his guitar and worshiped the Lord through the music he wrote. He will be remembered by his very special friend and soul mate, Halie Claycomb, along with numerous other friends.

Joey is survived by his parents, Joseph and Ursula Medrano; sisters, Christy Medrano and Julie (Felix) Thibodeaux; aunts and uncles, Loretta and Bobby Walters, Patti and Terry Hempen, Michael and Michelle Medrano, Deirdre and Drew Miller, Gordon Patterson and fiancé Cindy, Stephen Patterson, and Emily Maris; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Misty Medrano; grandparents, Maria and Dale Patterson and Mary and George Medrano.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 1, 2013, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jason Parker officiating. Interment to follow at Christ Bible Fellowship, 1705 Pioneer Road, Chipley, FL 32428. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m., one hour prior to the service. Serving as Pallbearers will be Joey's close and special friends, Alex Flemming, Brandon Daniels, Brandon Warr, Joseph Chambers, Travis English, and Trey Stewart. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to assist with the funeral arrangements or to the Epilepsy Foundation on their website www.epilepsyfoundation.org. Joey was in my Digital Design class at Deane Bozeman School. He was a talented artist and tremendous guitarist. He had a beautiful smile, a loving spirit and a circle of friends that loved him dearly. I will always cherish his memory.

A friend sent this to us. My heart goes out to the family. We lost our 22 year old son 5 years ago from Sudden Death due to an Epileptic Seizure. I wish the neurologist would have told us that this could happen. I pray that God wraps His arms around you and gives you peace in the midst of your broken heart.
