COAL TOWNSHIP - Alexander G. Helterbran Jr., 72, of Coal Township, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at his home with Holly, his loving wife, by his side.
He was born in Pittsburgh, Jan. 25, 1953, a son of the late Alexander G. Sr., and Carolyn (Davis) Helterbran.
Alexander attended Blue Mountain High School.
A "Jack of all trades," he worked as a carpenter, metal fabricator, welder and auto mechanic. He especially loved fixing and painting vehicles.
In addition to his loving wife, the former Holly Woland, Alexander is survived by his children, Alexander III, of Lanoka Harbor, New Jersey, Amanda, the light of his life, and his baby, Crystal (Jeremy) Bixler, of Cressona; a sister, Joyce (Wayne) Benninger and her family, of Orwigsburg; a brother, Clifford Helterbran and his daughter, of Pottsville; a sister-in-law, Gail (Tom) Rumberger, of Shamokin; and Nancy Galgocy and her family, of Shamokin.
In addition to his parents, Alexander was preceded in death by a brother, Louis; a nephew, Bradley Renninger; and a sister-in-law, Jackie Helterbran.
HELTERBRAN - Alexander G. Helterbran Jr., 72, of Coal Township. A visitation for family and friends will be held at James Kelley Funeral Home, 1001 W. Arch St. at Maple Street, Coal Township, from noon until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 29, with the Rev. Karyn Fisher officiating. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
