MOUNT CARMEL - Ann Louise C. (Reichwein) Diminick, 94, formerly of 335 W. Avenue, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Artis Senior Living, in Lemoyne.
She was born in Shamokin, July 1, 1929, a daughter of the late Edward and Anna "Sis" (Graham) Reichwein. Ann Louise was a resident of Shamokin until 1965, and resided in Mount Carmel until 2020. She moved to Lemoyne and remained there until her peaceful passing, surrounded by her family.
Ann Louise attended St. Edward's Grade School. She was a cheerleader and 1946 graduate of St. Edward's High School.
Upon graduation, she worked in the payroll office of the Arrow Shirt Co. in Shamokin.
On Oct. 7, 1950, she married Joseph "Jazz" Diminick, at St. Edward's Church, in Shamokin. They were happily married for 64 years until his passing, July 2, 2014.
She was a devout Catholic and member of the Altar Rosary Society at Divine Redeemer who sought guidance and comfort from Mother Mary.
She was a loving and supportive wife to her husband and a devoted mother to her six boys.
Not only a cheerleader for St. Ed's, but also for her husband and sons, she rarely missed a sporting event and attended hundreds of football games. She was the cornerstone of the still-expanding Diminick family and ensured a unique closeness among her grandchildren through the annual beach trips she organized for more than 20 years.
At those get-togethers and others, she was known to be the life of the party, invariably accompanied by her infectious laugh and smile. She was always among the last people left at the party, thanks to her youthful spirit and innate resilience that she brought to every facet of her life.
Ann Louise is survived by her six boys, 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren: Gary and Patti (Basso), of Belmont, North Carolina, and their children, Noah and Lindsay and two children, Erin and Chris McGaughnea, and three children; Sean and Shannon and two children, Kenneth and Lori, of Lemoyne, and their children, Joseph and Megan and two children, Alyssa and Robert Stiefel and two children, Michael and Hayley; Kiersten and Christopher Lenz and a child, Joseph, of Belle Isle, Florida, and his children, Tyler, Lauren and finance, Neal and Carolina; Edward and Elizabeth, of Kingsport, Tennessee, and their children, Bradley and Faith, and two children, Chad and fiancée Jacqueline and Matthew; John and Kristin, of Landisville, and their children, Luke and Katie, and a child, Conner and Tori and a child and Paige and fiancé Kevin; Michael and Katie, of Lynchburg, Virginia, and their children Hunter, Spencer and Taylor.
