KULPMONT — Dominick Louis Scicchitano, 93, of 1205 Wood St., and formerly of 549 Chestnut St., died peacefully in his sleep with his family at his side.
He was born in Kulpmont, April 21, 1923. He was a son of the late Dominick Scicchitano and Mary Teresa (Varano).
He is survived by Patrick and Mary Teresa Komara, and two great nieces, Nicole and Mary Frances; a sister, Marian Pickering, of Shamokin; a brother, Joseph Scicchitano, of Kulpmont; a sister, Catherine and her husband, Jack Maciejewski, of Kulpmont; many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and his caretaker, Elaine Komara.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bruno, Anthony and James; and sisters, infant Marian and Antoinette Bach.
He was a coal miner for years and became a heavy machine operator for Pagnotti Enterprises until his retirement.
He was an avid sports fan who supported local area teams. He loved going to see his nephews and nieces play basketball and baseball for Our Lady of Lourdes Regional School. He loved making soupies and Italian sausage with his nephews.
He was a member of Holy Angels Church, West End Fire Company and Knights of Columbus, all of Kulpmont. He also coached the local youth for many years.
SCICCHITANO — Dominick Louis Scicchitano, 93, of 1205 Wood St., Kulpmont. Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Monday, in the Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott St., Kulpmont, with Father Andrew Stahmer officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kulpmont. Viewing will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass Monday, in the Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott St., Kulpmont.
