Edward Clauser

KULPMONT — Edward Clauser, 92, died Friday, June 1, at Serenity Gardens.

Born in Mount Carmel on Nov. 28, 1914, he was the son of the late John and Annetta (Corrazzia) Clauser. He was a lifelong resident of Kulpmont.

He was a Shamokin High School graduate and was a self-employed Chevrolet dealer, with a dealership located on Chestnut Street in Kulpmont.

On Nov. 18, 1936, in Mount Carmel, he married the late Alice Powley, who preceded him in death on Jan. 13, 2006.

He was a member of Church of the Holy Angels and the former St. Mary's Church, both of Kulpmont. He was the oldest member of West End Fire Company, Kulpmont, in age and membership. He was the oldest member of the Six County Fireman's Association, and was a member of the Holy Name Society, a Eucharist minister at Church of the Holy Angels, financial secretary of the Pennsylvania inspection stations in Northumberland County and air raid warden for Kulpmont during World War II.

Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Jacqueline Visintainer of Kulpmont, Barbara Morin of Currituck, N.C., and Jayne Martin and her husband, John, of Jupiter, Fla.; two grandchildren, Michele Folley of Silver Springs, Md., and Charles (Chase) Martin of Florida; and five great-grandchildren, Sarah, Carley, Kelsey, Holley and Vincent Edward Morin Jr. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Vincent Morin, and two sons-in-law, Louis Visintainer and Robert Morin.

CLAUSER — Edward Clauser, 92, of Serenity Gardens, Kulpmont. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott St., Kulpmont, with the Rev. Raymond Orloski officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Kulpmont. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, with recitation of the rosary at 8 p.m., and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at C.J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 1053 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, Virginia M.
