MOUNT CARMEL - Eileen M. (Chapman) McFadden, 74, of 207 S. Beech St., passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Friday, Aug. 31, 2018, in her home.
She was born in Ashland on Dec. 5, 1943, a daughter of the late William and Laura (Shriner) Chapman.
Eileen was a retired seamstress having worked in the local garment industry.
She married James J. McFadden, Sr. in the former St. Ignatius Church, Centralia, who preceded her in death, Sept. 10, 2008.
She was a member of Divine Redeemer Church in Mount Carmel and the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union (ILGWU).
Her family was of utmost importance to her. She truly lived for her children, grandchildren, and her great-granddaughter. She was known to everyone as "Nanny" even to many who were not family. She attended all of her grandchildren's school activities and sporting events and kept busy doing so. Her family was her life; she would do anything for them. Nanny will be lovingly remembered, deeply missed and surely never forgotten.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, William James McFadden, June 24, 2018; her beloved grandson, Nathan William McFadden, Dec. 2, 2005; and as the last surviving member of her immediate family, all of her numerous brothers and sisters.
Surviving are a son, James J. McFadden Jr. and his wife, Cathy, of Mount Carmel; a daughter, Angela Picarella and her partner, Dr. Jeffrey Greco, of Oak Ridge Estates, Mount Carmel Township; a daughter-in-law, Ann McFadden of Mount Carmel; four grandchildren, Loni Ann (Picarella) Aiello and her husband, Joseph, of Wilkes-Barre and Bryan, Kyle and Benjamin McFadden all of Mount Carmel; one great-granddaughter, Gia Aiello; two sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
