ADDISON, N.Y. - Frank J. Bielski, 71, of Addison, New York, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2024, at Riverside Medical Center, in Newport News, Virginia.
Frank was born in Shamokin, in 1953, a son of Francis and 'Hattie' (Edna Suchodolski) Bielski.
He graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes High School, in Coal Township, in 1971. He later graduated from Mansfield University with a Master's of Education degree.
Frank was a dedicated teacher and coach, in Addison, New York, who helped students to achieve their goals. He was a celebrated wrestling and golf coach and filled in for other coaches when needed. In later years, he was athletic director, managing Addison's sports and programs and provided wise counsel to the next generation of coaches.
Frank also served in the Addison Fire Department and on the village board. He loved and was very proud of his community. Frank had a wonderful sense of humor and loved a good practical joke. He was a die-hard fan of Philly baseball, Penn State football and the Eagles football team.
Frank was proud of the accomplishments of his three children, Amanda, Jonathon and Alexis. He enjoyed seeing pictures and being with his grandchildren, Gabriel, Laine, Alexander, Lena and Addison.
Frank is survived by his wife, Mary (Harris) Bielski, of Addison, New York; three sisters, Marie Bielski, of Coal Township, Audrey O'Connell, of Rochester, New York, and his twin, Ann "Angie" and brother-in-law, Steve Marcinek, of Selinsgrove; and by many loving nieces and nephews.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ed and Joe; a sister, Christine and her husband, Howard George; and two nephews, Travis George and John O'Connell.
BIELSKI - Frank J. Bielski, 71, of Addison, New York. A celebration of the life of this great man will be held at the American Legion, 85 Maple St., Addison, New York, at 4:30 p.m.Saturday, Oct. 26. Stories and reminisces will be welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Addison Central School, 7 Cleveland Drive, Suite 101, Addison, NY 14801, Frank J. Bielski Athletic Award, which will be given to a senior each year.
