LEBANON - James Thomas "Jim" Berkheiser, 79, of Lebanon, formerly of Palmyra, passed away Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018, at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital.
Jim was born in Ashland on July 19, 1939, a son of the late Harry and Hazel (Weikel) Berkheiser, of Campbelltown, formerly of Mount Carmel.
He resided in Mount Carmel with his parents and brother until moving to Hershey when he was a teenager.
He graduated from Hershey High School in 1957 and started a long career at the Hershey Country Club in 1962, ultimately becoming an assistant golf course superintendent and retiring from the profession in 2001.
Jim's Hershey Country Club career was interrupted in the mid-1960s when he enlisted in and served in the U.S. Army.
After retiring in 2001, he worked part-time at Home Depot in Harrisburg for 11 years.
Jim enjoyed outdoor work, working with horses when he was young and was an avid history buff.
Jim is survived by his first wife, Elaine (Hostetter) Berkheiser, of Cleona, their children, Kevin Berkheiser, of Lebanon, Michelle Whitfield and husband, Marcus, of Middletown, grandson, Tyler Whitfield, of Middletown, his brother, Darwin Berkheiser and his wife, Karen, of Cleona, and his nephew, Corey Berkheiser, of Cleona.
He was preceded in death by his second wife, Linda (Krushinski) Berkheiser, of Palmyra, formerly of Murrysville, and his daughter, Jennifer Berkheiser, of Cleona.

BERKHEISER - James Thomas "Jim" Berkheiser, 79, of Lebanon. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 618 E. Main St., Annville. Private interment will take place in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. A visitation will be from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
