HAZLETON - Karen L. Savadge, 58, of Hazleton, passed away Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, at her home.
She was born in Shamokin, March 22, 1960, a daughter of the late Joseph and Gertrude (Weaver) Namet.
Karen was an avid gamer and she attended gaming conventions, with her favorite being Gen Con in Indianapolis. She loved watching classic movies with her favorites being "Hello Dolly" and "It's A Wonderful Life." She gathered a new fondness for the Marvel Universe movies and "Groot" was her favorite. Karen loved listening to classic music, especially the Beatles, with John Lennon being her favorite. She had a love for fantasy dragons and a love for her pet cat, Sammy, and dog, Wolfie. She enjoyed traveling, sightseeing and the outdoors, but most of all she enjoyed being with family.
Surviving are her husband, Fred V. Savadge Jr., of Hazleton; a son, Jason, husband of Sherri Madison, of Maryland; a daughter, Danni-Marie, wife of Daryl Herner, of Hegins; stepdaughters, Aylora Savadge, of Hazleton, and Aurora, wife of Andrew Oldfield, of Stroudsburg; grandchilden, Jonathan and Kay-lee Herner; brothers, Gary, Dan and Joe Namet; and sister, Bonnie Glowatski.
SAVADGE - Karen L. Savadge, 58, of Hazleton. Services will be held 8 p.m. Friday, at the Willard Rothermel Funeral Home, Mount Carmel, with the Rev. Jane Hess officiating. Viewing will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Willard Rothermel Funeral Home, Mount Carmel, is in charge of the arrangements.
