Leah Politis Obituary
Born Sept. 1, 1917, in Atlas, she was a daughter of the late Venanzio and Carolyn (Colross) Santell. In addition to living in Atlas, she resided at Roosevelt Court in Kulpmont for the past eight years.
She attended Mount Carmel Township schools.
She married William Politis, who preceded her in death on Oct. 10, 1978.
Leah was a homemaker and had worked at the Pine Burr Inn as a waitress, the Kan-Mak Mill and the General Cigar factory in Mount Carmel.
She was a member of Divine Redeemer Church and a former member of St. Paul's Chapel in Atlas.
Surviving are a sister, Mary Lou Meredith, of Mount Carmel, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Frank, Vincent, Charles and Donald Santell and two sisters, Anna Schiavone and Josephine Nemchick.

POLITIS — Leah R. Politis, 93, formerly of 214 W. Girard St., Atlas. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in Divine Redeemer Church, 300 W. Avenue, Mount Carmel, with the Rev. Michael Laicha, officating. There will be no viewing. The C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 27 N. Vine St., Mount Carmel, C.J. Lucas, IV, supervisor, is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Divine Redeemer Church, 438 W. Avenue, Mount Carmel 17851. To send condolences to the famil, go to www.cjlucasfuneralhome.com.

Aunt Leah will be remembered as a kind and gentle lady.She always had a smile and kind word for everyone.
