Marguerite Ginck Obituary

SUNBURY — Marguerite Ginck, 97, of Sunbury, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014, in Sunbury Community Hospital.

She was born in Verdilla, Jan. 22, 1917, a daughter of the late Elias and Margaret (Kerstetter) Campbell.

On Nov. 2, 1935, in Hagerstown, Md., she married John Ginck, who preceded her in death in 1994.

She was formerly employed by Allen Clark Poultry, Irish Valley, and last at the snack bar at Sunbury Community Hospital.

She was a member of Albright United Methodist Church, Sunbury, for 61 years and then Hope United Methodist Church, Sunbury, for three years.

She was formerly a 4H leader in Irish Valley. She enjoyed baking, canning, traveling and playing cards with her grandchildren.

She was a member of the Voters Hall of Fame for having voted in every election from age 21 until the time of her death.

Surviving are six children and their spouses, Winifred Nemecek, of Sunbury, Joan Swartz, of Elysburg, David and Doris Ginck, of Paxinos, Benjamin Ginck, of Irish Valley, Janet and Robert Ulrich, of Winfield, and Brenda Attinger, of Sunbury; 13 grandchildren, Suzanne, Shawn, Stacy, Charles, Melissa, Austin, Stephanie, Jeff, Jason, Eric, Pamela, Michael and Kelly, and 14 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Francis and Russell, and by seven sisters, Louella Longacre, Florence Heintzelman, Irene Stahl, Blanche Heintzelman, Jennie Grove, Rachel Baney and Marie Johnson.

GINCK — Marguerite Ginck, 97, of Sunbury. A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make donations to the charity of their choice.
