Marilyn Keeler, 78, formerly of Mifflinburg, passed away Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024, after a brief illness.
She was born in Washington, D.C., Nov. 5, 1945.
Marilyn attended Kutztown University, graduating with a degree in education with a specialization in Spanish. In her career as a Spanish teacher at Mifflinburg Area High School, she enjoyed guiding new groups of students to master the Spanish language each year.
Marilyn loved her children, grandchildren and extended family more than anything. She spent her free time gardening, working on home improvement projects, attending sporting events and traveling. Her favorite destination was Costa Rica, where she took several groups of students over the years to introduce them to a culture and people she loved.
Marilyn is survived by her children and grandchildren, Jonathan D. Keeler (Jennifer) and Anna and Sydney Keeler, of Hummelstown; Erin Stellar (Billy) and Ian Stellar, of Kulpmont; and Stephanie Keeler (Jake Davis), of South Williamsport; and several close cousins, nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, William T. and Evelyn E. (Weaver) Pritchard; her sister, Suzanne Newell Wenner (Pritchard); and her former husband, the Rev. Jack E. Keeler.
