BRIDGEWATER, N.J. - Paul A. Connaghan, 82, of Bridgewater, New Jersey, and formerly of Mount Carmel, passed away Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023, at his home.
He was born in Mount Carmel, Aug. 1, 1941, a son of the late Kathryn (Kleman) and Bernard Connaghan.
He graduated from Mount Carmel High School, in 1959.
Paul served in the U.S. Army.
Paul was the husband of Sandra M. (Seiler) Connaghan.
He was of the Catholic faith.
Paul was a member of American Legion Post 12, of Somerville, New Jersey, and served as post commander for several years.
He last worked for Shanahan's Stationary and Office Equipment, in Somerville, New Jersey, as an office machine repair technician.
Paul enjoyed shooting pool and traveling throughout Europe with his wife.
Surviving are his wife, Sandra M. Connaghan, of Bridgewater, New Jersey; a son, Joseph Connaghan, of Pottsville; a brother, Francis "Frank" Connaghan (Delia "Dee"), of California; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Jack; and two sisters, Rita and Pat.
CONNAGHAN - Paul A. Connaghan, 82, of Bridgewater, New Jersey, and formerly of Mount Carmel. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home Inc., 901 Centre St., Ashland. A funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Giuseppe Esposito officiating. Burial will follow services at Citizens Cemetery, in Lavelle. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Paul's memory to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 300 Union Ave., Somerville, New Jersey 08876.
