SHAMOKIN - Ronald R. Dimm, 87, of Sunbury Street, Shamokin, passed away Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024, at his residence with his family by his side.
He was born in Coal Township, Sept. 3, 1937, a son of the late Emory and Cora Mae (Weber) Dimm.
He was a graduate of the former Coal Township High School, Class of 1955.
Following graduation he entered the U.S. Army, serving as a repairman with Co. A, 316th Transportation Division, until his honorable discharge from service in 1958.
Ron was employed as a door maker for Young Door Co., in Sunbury, until his retirement. He was a member of Mountainside Assembly of God Church, in Trevorton.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Piefer Dimm, to whom he was married for 63 years; four sons, Ronald Dimm II and his fiancee, Sandy Moralelli, of Paxinos, David Dimm and his wife, Christine, of Sunbury, Allen Dimm and his wife, Kazuko, of Lancaster, and Aaron Dimm and his fiancee, Maleewon, of York; two brothers, Kenneth Dimm and his wife, Evette, of Lancaster, and Lamar Dimm and his wife, Marie, of Cumming, Georgia; two sisters-in-law, Betty Vazquez, of Kulpmont, and Marion Madera and her husband, Tony Madera, of Trevorton; 10 grandchildren, Mellissa Snyder and her husband, Andrew, Nicholas Dimm, Ronald Dimm III, Chelsi Dimm, Hevyn Miller and her husband, Donny, and Tiffany, Kyrie, Willow, Meadow and Aaron Dimm; eight great-grandchildren, Jackson, Cash, Lucas and Delaney Snyder, soon-to-be-born Snyder twins, and Brynlee and Ryder Miller; and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
Preceding Ron in death was a mother-in-law, Goldie Williams; a grandson, Ronald Dimm III; and Michelle Elliot.
DIMM - Ronald R. Dimm, 87, of Sunbury Street, Shamokin. Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of life funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mountainside Assembly of God Church, Trevorton Road. Viewing will begin at 9 a.m. until the time of service with Dr. Rev. Michael T. Goodling, pastor, officiating. The family request donations be made in Ron's honor to the Mountainside Assembly of God Church, 1900 Trevorton Road, Coal Township 17866. Richard W.
