MOUNT CARMEL - Thelma P. Duceman, 87, of Mount Carmel, passed away Friday, Dec. 11, 2020, at the Mount Carmel Senior Living Community.
She was born in Mount Carmel, Feb. 12, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Mable (Laing) Gummel.
Thelma attended Mount Carmel schools.
She was married April 17, 1952, in the Zion Lutheran Church, Ashland, to Richard Duceman, who preceded her in death Aug. 16, 1977.
She was a former member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish and a member of the Mount Carmel Senior Action Center.
Surviving are three daughters, Sherey Daya and her companion, Leon Gallagher, of Mount Carmel; Beverly Cooper and her husband, Matt, of Mount Carmel and Elaine Wisnoskie and her husband, Kenneth, of Locust Gap; four sons, Richard Duceman and his companion, Kathy Shutt, of Aristes; Kenneth Duceman and his wife, Linda, of Den-Mar Gardens; Arthur Duceman and his wife, Kimberly, of Den-Mar Gardens, and Allen Duceman and his wife, Kimberly, of Fredericksburg, Virginia; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one arriving in March. Also surviving is a brother-in-law, Thomas Joraskie, and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Philip, John, Peter and Eugene Gummel and four sisters, Catherine Vincenzes, Margaret Watkins, Mary Jane Joraskie and Rose Brown. She was the last surviving of her nine siblings. She was also preceded in death by an infant grandchild, Stacy Daya.

DUCEMAN - Thelma P. Duceman, 87, of Mount Carmel. Religious services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Joseph J. Stutz Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz III, supervisor. The Rev. Joan A. Brown will officiate. Interment will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Mount Carmel Township. A visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, family is asking to send a gift to a resident in need at the Mount Carmel Senior Living Community.
