SHAMOKIN - Thomas M. Weaver, 74, of 16 Mountain Road, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 6, 1946, in Coal Township, a son of Dorothy (Bixler) Weaver, of Coal Township, and the late Thomas Weaver.
Tom was a 1964 graduate of the former Coal Township High School.
On Sept. 26, 1970, in the former St. Joseph's Church, Coal Township, he married Darlene Boris, who survives.
Tom had first worked as a painting contractor. In 1984, he along with his wife, Darlene, opened Darlene's Deli, in Shamokin. He enjoyed working at the Deli and talking with the many loyal customers over the years. He worked there until his retirement due to health issues.
Tom enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing. He loved gardening and growing vegetables at his home. He liked Beatles music and really enjoyed the days of playing softball for the Faust Café team.
He was a member of the Fairview Gun Club and the Shamokin Moose.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, Dorothy, and his wife, Darlene, include two sons, Thomas Weaver, of Woodbury, Connecticut, and Tyler Weaver, at home; a daughter, Dana Earnest and her husband, Mark, of Bloomsburg; two grandsons, Gabriel and Gannon Earnest; a sister, Pamela Moore and her husband, Dennis, of Coal Township; a brother-in-law, Robert Boris and his wife, Jane, of Catawissa; and two nieces, Stephanie Banning, of Hummelstown, and Shannon Taylor, of Catawissa; and two nephews, Stephen Moore and Chad Moore, both of Coal Township.
WEAVER - Thomas M. Weaver, 74, of 16 Mountain Road, Shamokin. There will be no viewing or visitation. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a local branch of the American Cancer Society, or at cancer.org. The Stephen A. Chowka Funeral Home, 114 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin, is assisting the family with arrangements.
