I would get a call; "Gwen, I need something glitzy" meaning she had a desktop publishing project for me that was a weird idea of hers. We would brain storm and I would get work. This was one of those that took 6 revisions! I can't remember if she actually used it though. She challenged me with every "project." {Smile}

Pastor Hatcher was my friend as well as my pastor. She and John have always been so loving and special to all they come in contact with. Smiles and hugs are my favorite memories. While I have many other memories, I will never forget her wisdom and compassion for teaching and preaching the word of God. Over the years whenever I would get bogged down in something causing me angst, I could always call her and she would listen and give me solace through her down to earth ministering mixed with humor at times. I believe she truly lived to "make disciples of Jesus Christ." I hope I can make more disciples by honoring and remembering her teachings. God needed a very special angel on February 8, 2018 and she was the one he chose. He made a good decision. See you later Pastor Hatcher.

To the family of Myrtle Hatcher
To everything there is a season and Frances lived her season with humility. Serving as only a child of God would by putting others before herself and being active in the fight to help those less fortunate than herself. I met Frances when I moved to Staunton, Va and am a former classmate. During the time we were in school together Frances never changed how she saw and treated people. She had a infectious laugh and to know her was to love her. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Dear John and Family,

I was so very sorry to learn of your precious Myrtle's passing during our Worship Service yesterday here at Williamsburg UMC. I know too well how the sudden loss of a spouse impacts life. You are blessed to have had Myrtle in your life and I suspect she and my husband, Rev.Jim Ward are in heaven comparing notes. Myrtle greeted us when we retired here to Williamsburg in 2004 and then entertained us as retirees annually until she left the District. Such a sweetheart! I hope to be able to join you on Friday.
