N. Karicofe Obituary
Age: 76 • Churchville
CHURCHVILLE - Newton Keith Karicofe, 76, of 612 Dryden Rd., died Wednesday, November 29 in his home.
Born March 7, 1941 in Staunton, he was the son of S. Newton and Margaret Belle (Simmons) Karicofe. He was a member and former elder of Union Presbyterian Church. He was a hard working, dedicated farmer, and loved his family, farm and animals. After retiring from farming, he was a bus driver for Augusta County Schools for 16 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Penny Thompson. Surviving are his wife, Jane (Starrett) Karicofe; three children, Newton Heath Karicofe and wife Felicia of Churchville, Heather Blessing and husband Aaron of Middlebrook, and Hayley Karicofe of Churchville; a brother-in-law, Dr. James Thompson of Churchville; three grandchildren, Aiden Blessing and Morgan and Miranda Karicofe; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017 in Union Presbyterian Church, officiated by Pastor Judy Hensley. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday in Bear Funeral Home.
