Bently Thomas Obituary
Bently was born on Jan. 31, 1943, in Northway. He was the second eldest child of Eva (Northway) and Silas Thomas (Tanacross). In 1971, Bently met Sharon in Tok, where she worked at the time. He subsequently pursued her and in April 1972, they married. In January 1973, their son, Timothy Bentley, was born. Even though Sharon and Bently went their separate ways, they remained good friends.
Bently was known for his unfathomed generosity. One of the last two good deeds he did was take a young man to Delta who didn't have a place to stay in Northway, then the very next morning he drove a couple to Tok who needed a ride. He was always calling his family and friends to make sure they were OK and asking them if they needed anything.
Bently was a good man. He joked around quite often with those around him. His comical nature drew people toward him. His laugh was contagious and the look he gave you while laughing was priceless.
Bently was an extremely hard worker. Through the Laborer's Union, he stayed busy by working all over the state. His passion was going to 10 Mile Camp every spring - hunting, trapping, fishing and eating muskrat surrounded by family and friends. During his off time and throughout retirement he could be found participating in his other favorite pastime: playing poker or pan.
Bently is survived by his wife, Sharon; son, Timothy (Crystalena); grandchildren, Katrice, Kia and Timothy Jr.; sisters, Bertlyn, Marjorie (Orlando), Elizabeth and Evelyn; brothers, Danny, Sherman, Gary (Judy), Bobby and Benjamin; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members that were dear to his heart.
Bently is predeceased by his parents, Eva and Silas Thomas; grandparents, Lily and Walter Northway, and Sarah and Peter Thomas; sister, Carolyn Albert; brothers, Marvin Albert; sister-in-law, Bonnie Thomas; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, July 5, at Northway Tribal Hall; burial immediately following.

Little that I know that you were going to leave me behind, you have took my heart with you and now part of me is missing, oh brother Charlie, who is going to call on check up on his brothers and sisters? I love you, please come back to me, words cannot express how I feel. You will for ever be in my heart and mind, and I will see you on the other sis. God bless you and hide you under his wings. I Kyle k. Gene. Bentley Thomas was my best friend and he was my best poker buddy, we always walk away with $1000.00 + on poker. He always ask if I needed money. I told him no. I will ask you when I really need. And yeah he was a really really good guy

To the Family of Bently, I am sorry to hear of his passing, He was a kind Person and will not be forgotten.I had a chance to work with Bently back in the day at BLM-Tanacross, during those years we worked hard, had fun,and made it to work everyday.
