Christopher DeLeon Obituary
Chris' lifelong dream was to become a police officer, and in 2002 he graduated from the Alaska State Trooper Academy in Sitka. He served in law enforcement positions in Barrow, Fort Yukon and the Fairbanks Police Department before retiring. During his tenure, he was a proud member of the tactical team and received many commendations and awards for his service.
Chris was also proud to serve in the Alaska Air National Guard for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time in the outdoors with his forever faithful companion, his dog Rigby.
Chris is survived by his greatest gifts, his children, Kaleigh and Gabe (mother Krislyn); father, Ted DeLeon; sister, Stacey (DeLeon) Wells; uncles, Patrick and Louis DeLeon (wife Patty); and many cousins, uncles, family and friends
He is preceded in death by his mother, Nancy, and paternal grandparents Frank and Mildred Wellman and maternal grandparents James and Louisa DeLeon.
Services will be held at Sacred Heart Cathedral at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2021, with a reception following at the Elk's Lodge. Arrangements are being made by Blanchard Family Funeral Home. Flowers can be sent to Sacred Heart Cathedral, 1300 Peger Road, in Fairbanks.

Gabe and Kaleigh,
I was a close friend and counsel for your father. I just wanted you to know that I do not believe a day went by that he did not think of you and think of ways to be closer to you. He truly loved you. You were the most important people in his life.
Chris had great hopes for your future together. He would talk to me about you all the time. When he would talk about his time speaking with you or spending time with you, there would always joy in his voice.
I am very sorry for your loss, but you should know there was no question how much he loved you. I know this extremely well.

Ted, I am so saddened to read this. Chris was one of a kind friend to our family always- and when we needed him most. He will love on in the people he helped in so many ways.
