Darren John DeWilde

1996 - 2022

Darren John DeWilde was born Jan. 5, 1996, to Jeanette Dixon and Ray DeWilde in Anchorage, Alaska. Darren passed away peacefully with his wife, Katherine DeWilde, by his side early in morning of March 25, 2022.
Darren was raised in Fairbanks, Alaska, along with his brothers and attended both Hunter Elementary and Tikasuk Brown Elementary during grade school. He attended North Pole Middle School and he graduated from Effie Kokrine Charter School May of 2014 alongside his high school sweetheart, Katherine. Darren was a family man and was a wonderful father and husband; he married Kitty on July 18, 2015. Together they raised three beautiful children, Aleah, Aubrey and Ezra. Darren was ecstatic that they would be welcoming their fourth child together this year in September.
Darren was a hard worker and over the past couple weeks his family has been able to hear from his co-workers and bosses what an amazing person he was. His most recent employers, Alaska Rubber, have said nothing but kind words about him and loved his goofy personality, his smile and the laughter he brought into their day. The one thing they all say is what a good family man he was, that his smile was never brighter when he would talk about Kitty and their kids. He was a dad who enjoyed taking his kids to the ice park in the spring time, bringing them to the park and bringing them to school in the mornings.
Darren leaves behind his wife, Katherine DeWilde, and their three children; his father, Ray DeWilde, and his mothers, Antoinette Naazu Roberts, Jeanette Dixon and Rhonda Yaska; and his grandma, Eileen Roberts.
Darren was from a large family. His siblings include Lee (Jaysanna), Louis (Leann), Derrick, William, Michael (Megan) and his sister, Jeanette, along with many uncles, aunties and cousins, in-laws, and his Boston family.
Darren's service will be Monday, April 4, 2022, at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 3030 Peger Road. Visitation will be at 11:00a.m. with the funeral service at noon. He will be laid to rest after the service at Birch Hill. A potluck will start at 5:00p.m. at Mount Pleasant. Please feel free to bring a dish. Floral donations can either be sent to Chapel of Chimes or Mount Pleasant Baptist Church on Monday.
