Dean Sheldon Obituary
Dean was born March 10, 1970, in Oakland, Calif. Dean graduated from Chemawa High School and enlisted in the Army National Guard. He worked for the Tagiugmiulu Nunamiulu Housing Authority and was a Search & Rescue volunteer for Anaktuvuk Pass. He also was an Eskimo dance member with the Nunamiut dancers.
He loved to hunt caribou and geese, and he enjoyed fishing and taking his kids outdoors. He shared what he caught with the elders of Anaktuvuk Pass. Dean loved the outdoors and adventures.
He was preceded in death by his father, Merle Trombley Sr.; brothers, Mark and Marlon Trombley; grandmothers, Bertha Sheldon and Daisy Tickett; grandfather, Wilson Tickett; and mother-in-law, Anna Morry.
Dean is survived by his wife, Caroline Sheldon; children, Audrey, Jalen, Shana, Dean Jr., Harry, Xavier and Anna; parents, mother, Lottie Tickett and husband MacArthur Tickett; brothers, Gary, Aaron, and Andrew Tickett; sisters, Elaine, Crystal and Jarraine Tickett; half-brothers, Murray, Merle Jr. and Marvin Trombley; brothers-in-law, Michael and Mathew Hugo, Derek, Kavik-Ben and Michael; sisters-in-law, Cheryl and Charlene Hugo; aunts, Stella Aleck, Nellie Sheldon, Polly Commack, Emily Downey, Jessie Douglas, Shirley Custer, Karen Douglas and Lulu Cleveland; uncle, Morris Douglas; nephews, Turrell, Kaden, Justice, Damien, Julius and Eric; and nieces, Callie, Nicole, Jade, Summer, Susana, Ariana, Karlene and Hailey.
A service was held Aug. 22 in Anaktuvuk Pass with Keith Johnson officiating.
Memorial donations canbe sent to his wife, Caroline Sheldon, P.O. Box 21093, Anaktuvuk Pass, AK 99721.
Arrangements were entrusted to Fairbanks Funeral Home.

I knew Dean from Chemawa Indian School...many years ago. I remember him as a very happy go lucky young man, managing his best with being so far from home. Prayers for his family and friends, he's truly a remarkable man. Take Care and well wishes to the family.

i met Dean when i was over Shunglak nine years ago looking for my niece,when she drowned there,Dean was a real nice person,he took me to this one creek a bove shunglak,and did some grayling fishing,there were a lot of grayling in the creek,the water was so clear you could see them swimming under the water.any way i like to send my condolences out to mac and lottie tickett,and familys,friends,rest in peace Dean.
