Delbert Berg Obituary
1938-2025
Delbert "Del" Lee Berg passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025, at the age of 86.
Del lived a life full of loving adventures, embracing every opportunity that came his way. Growing up in the Texas Panhandle and Oklahoma, he learned to drive a tractor before his little feet could even reach the pedals. At just 17, he proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, a journey he embraced until his honorable discharge in October 1962.
One of Del's greatest joys was his White 1960 Bonneville Convertible - a symbol of his spirited personality. He married and was blessed with four wonderful children, two boys and two girls, creating a family that became the center of his world. Later, he moved to Alaska where he continued his career as a renowned truck driver, eventually serving as a foreman to finish out his career. After retiring, he and his wife moved to Arizona where they explored new adventures, and enjoyed visiting family and friends.
Del was a man of his word, respected by all who knew him for his commanding presence, a voice that carried and unwavering integrity. He touched the lives of many, becoming a true friend who stayed in touch, whether through a simple phone call or a warm knock on the door. Each visit was marked by his genuine affection, making everyone feel valued and loved.
An avid lover of fishing, hunting, golf, and classic westerns, Del brought joy and laughter to every experience. We often reminisce about our fishing trips together, where we can still hear his booming voice joyfully calling out, "fish on!" and see the enormous grin on his face as he reeled in his catch.
Del will be remembered not just for his adventurous spirit, but also for his deep love for his family and friends, his unwavering strength, generosity, and kindness of heart. He created a safe space for all of us to share our thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. These precious moments with him will be forever cherished and held close within our hearts.
We were truly fortunate and blessed to have him in our lives. Del, you will always be remembered with love and gratitude. We miss you dearly and hold you in our hearts until we meet again. Rest in peace.
Del is lovingly survived, by his wife, sister and her husband, four children and their spouses, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
