Joseph Monge Obituary

As the saying goes no child should die before their parents. It does happen and is so painful.
Joseph William Monge passed away in Seattle on Sept. 13, 2020, of organ failure. He was 49 years old. He was born in Bellingham, Washington, on March 25, 1971. He came to Fairbanks with his family when he was 2 years old.
Joe went to school at ICS and Monroe High School. He was involved in sports since he was 5 years old. He played hockey, little dribblers, little league baseball and seventh- and eighth-grade basketball, JV and Varsity at Monroe High. He worked at Fred Meyer West and Hub Grocery after high school. He moved to Washington state in his mid-20s and worked on a crab boat. After that he worked for a short time for Nintendo and Delta Airlines.
He loved NFL and the NBA. His favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. He has been a Dallas fan since a young child, win or lose. His favorite times were at his computer playing fantasy football and basketball with 70s and 80s music in the background.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mike Monge, grandparents Mary Lou and Ed Mueller, and half-brother, Bryon.
He is survived by his mother, Susan Gamble, and step-father David Gamble, his sister Amy, brother Andy, half-brother and sisters James, Michael-Ann and Meghann, his uncle and buddy Eric, Uncle Scott, Uncle Bill, cousin Aaron, and nephews Casey and Adam.
Condolences can be sent to Susan Gamble, PO Box 71003, Fairbanks, AK, 99707 or online in the Daily News-Miner under obituaries.
He is in peace now. We miss you, Joe, so much.
