Joyce Wegner Obituary
She was born April 7, 1932, to Bernell and Louise Andrews, in Boston, N.Y., and lived in Springville, N.Y., where she owned a restaurant, The Dairy Bar. After meeting her husband-to-be, Larry, she and her four children moved to Conroe, Texas. She obtained her cosmetology license there and worked as a hairdresser.
In the summer of 1974, she left Texas and drove up the Alcan with two of her children, Mike and Toni. She was following her husband, Larry, whom she sent up to Fairbanks earlier that summer. She worked many years as a waitress at the Sunset Strip and Ivory Jacks, and bartended at the Fox Roadhouse back in the late '70s and early '80s. She loved crafts – especially painting, ceramics and sewing.
She was preceded in death by her grandsons, Robert (Robbie) Burrow and Seth White.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband, Larry, and four children, Maggie (Doug) Carnes, Liz (Kraig) Rhow, Mike (Lana) Wegner and Toni (Ward) Isaacs; six grandchildren, David Burrow, Aaren Porteur, Jeremy, Cassie and Tara Wegner, and Amanda Krause; seven great-grandchildren, and five brothers.
She is deeply missed. Donations can be made in her name to the National Parkinson's Foundation (parkinsons.org).

My deepest condolences to Larry and all of Joyce's family.
I knew Joyce and Larry briefly prior to leaving Alaska. They sold me a Yorkie puppy that Joyce called their "puppy from hell". That pup was a loving and committed companion for 15 wonderful years.
I've often thought about Joyce & Larry and wondered where they were now. I'm saddened to see Joyce has passed. She was a wonderful person and certainly made an impression on me.
May the Lord's Peace will be with each of you through this very difficult time.

To me Joyce represented strength, courage, love of her family. I admired her creativity, her art. And cherish a painting she did for me years ago.

I knew Joyce all of my life. When our mother passed Joyce became the matriarch of our family. We would call & discuss the latest family issues. She certainly will leave a huge void in the family. May God bless her & keep her. Love you & miss you Sis.
