Michael Brand Obituary
He was born in Arnett, Georgia, on Nov. 23, 1951, to Tom and Doris Brand. As a member of an Air Force family, he resided in various locations around the country including Georgia, Texas, Massachusetts, Washington state, California, Florida and Alaska. While living in Atwater, California, he met and married Barbara Dillon on Dec. 28, 1972 - a marriage that lasted 25 years and produced seven children.
He was employed with several companies over the years, but his main employment was with the North Star Borough School District in Fairbanks until his retirement. His passions included firearms, photography, golf and model HO trains. For several years he was also a member in good standing with the College chapter of the Lions.
Michael is preceded in death by his father, Master Sgt. Tom W. Brand; mother, Doris E. Brand; brother, James L. Payne Jr.; son, Tom Michael Brand; daughters, Athena Mechael Brand and Karole R. (Becky) Brand (Marlow).
He is survived by his brothers, Tom Parker of Mountain View, California, and Don Parker of North Pole, Alaska; sisters, Susan Brand (Cotter) and Dianne Brand (Armstrong) of North Pole Alaska; sons, John Brand of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, James "Jimmie" Brand of Bismarck, North Dakota, Ian Brand also of North Dakota; daughter, Demetria Brand (Kilburn) of Dayton, Ohio; ex-wife, Barbara Dillon of Bismarck North Dakota; companion, Molinda Modene of Fairbanks, Alaska; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by nephews George Wiggins II of Buchanan, Michigan, Brandon Hellstrom of Portland, Oregon, Harvey Templeton of Fairbanks, Alaska, niece Daniella Wiggins (Freeman) of Buchanan, Michigan, and several grand-nephews and -nieces and friends.
He was good man and will be missed by all. As per his wishes there will be no services.
