Sue was a very dear friend to me for 18 years. She had a heart of gold and an extremely generous nature. It was routine for me to arrive home to find items Sue had left for me either hanging in bags from the railing of my driveway gate or placed on my arctic entry. Items of interest she thought I might like to have whether to incorporate into an art project or for my house. We spoke several times a week, however brief the phone calls were they were always very important to me. She is always in my thoughts and terribly missed.

Sue was a great gal who had her fingers in many pies and deep into the Fairbanks community. I took two OSHER classes and attended several others with her. Her art will live on but there is a big hole in our cultural life.

Sue was a dear friend to me and a lot of others. She was never happier than seeing a student of hers using the skills and ideas she had shared with them. She always had more to give and wanted to help me in any way she could. A great recycler - often had a treasure for me that she had rescued. Never tired of learning and showing new techniques for doing almost everything, from how to clean a you-name-it, to recipes that she figured would be good for me or help feed my passions, to any art endeavor a person might be interested in (or ought to be interested in!) She was never pushy, just so very encouraging to me. She spoke of her siblings with love and talked of moving closer in the future. I am so glad she did the early retirement and was able to pursue her art life full time. She loved it!!! She'll be missed by many for a long time.

I only met Sue last year, when I attended a water color class she taught at Oli life long learning, UAF. She was a generous sole, and we struck up a friend ship. Once when I gave Sue a hair cut, we enjoyed a nice visit, and she spoke lovingly about her family. She was an important part of the community and will be missed greatly. Krista

Sue was always more than willing to share her many talents. We'd frequently get messages on the Watercolor blog telling us different websites where we could find helpful information. And she was always willing to teach at OLLI which is a volunteer job, and she'd bring oh so many materials for the students. Her studio is full of kits and examples!
