Susan Montuya Obituary
Susan Montuya, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Oct. 18, 2025, at the age of 93. She was born on Sept. 20, 1932, in Dapa, Surigao del Norte, Philippines.
A woman of unwavering faith, Susan devoted her life to God and her family. She was known for her love of Filipino cooking, her generosity, and her deep compassion for others. After moving to Alaska in 1984, she worked tirelessly to bring her family from the Philippines, building a life rooted in faith, love, and togetherness.
She is survived by her seven children, Levy Montuya (Nory), Alice (Gary) McLean, Carly (Lingling) Montuya, Brendo (Elizabeth) Montuya, Edmund Montuya, Rosynill (Paul) Marchuck, and Sally (David) McCarter/Denton; 25 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Her life was a reflection of God's grace, and her love will continue to bless all who knew her.
We are truly blessed, thankful, and forever grateful for everything she has done for her family.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Shelter Bible Church in Fairbanks, Alaska.
