Travis Dale Coghill

1979 - 2014

Travis Dale Coghill, 34, passed away unexpectedly April 19, 2014, from an apparent brain aneurysm.
Travis was born to Jerald and Darla Coghill on Sept. 11, 1979, in Fairbanks. Raised in Nenana, Travis graduated from Nenana High School in 1997. Travis had worked many different jobs throughout his life and had been a member of the Local 302 Operators Union where he was able to work in various locations throughout Alaska. 
He was your typical "Jack of all trades" and a master at bartering, always getting the better end of the deal. Travis loved to be outdoors and enjoyed hunting. During the summer months, you could usually find Travis out riding his Harley, whether rain or shine. Travis had spent his last winter living in Nenana, ensuring that his mother was taken care of and not alone following the recent death of her husband, Brian, who had lost his battle with cancer in August 2013. 
Travis had a spirit that couldn't be tamed; quick to voice his opinion, he told you like it was. Travis may have been tough on the outside, but he had a heart of gold. Armed with a charismatic personality and infectious smile, Travis had the ability to make friends with anyone who crossed paths with him.
Travis is preceded in death by his grandparents, Dale and Pat Ridlington, Chuck and Pauline McMannes; grandmother, Frances Coghill; beloved step-father, Brian McMannes; uncle, Jim Coghill; cousin, Michael Coghill; godfather, Mike Pearson; and best friend, Brian Taylor.
Travis is survived by his grandfather, Jack Coghill; mother, Darla J. McMannes; father, Jerald F. Coghill, and wife, Maggie Coghill; brothers, Derrick J. Coghill, and wife, Melissa; nephews, Correy, Zack, Keegan and Trevor; nieces, Elizabeth and Shyanne; Joseph Coghill, and wife, Summer; nephews, Braiden and Joseph Jr.; nieces, Paige and Lylah; Jay Coghill and Bobbie McCarter and nephew, Jett, and Ryan Coghill; and many more aunts, uncles and cousins.
Travis is especially survived by his girlfriend, Ashlee Hansen; her two children, Brylee and Dalton; and also their precious unborn daughter, Brianne Rodale Coghill, who is due to be born in late June. 
All Travis had ever wanted in life was to become a dad, which he was. He had devoted the last two and a half years of his life helping to raise Brylee and Dalton. He loved those children as if they were his own. They had captured his heart in a way he never imagined possible.
In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a trust account for Travis's unborn daughter, Brianne, with Wells Fargo, account No. 7023375152.
A celebration of Travis' life will start at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26, in the Nenana City Public School gymnasium. A potluck will follow.
