Victor Johnson Obituary
March 7, 1935 - March 16, 2024
On March 16, 2024, Victor "Frank" Johnson quietly took his last breath here on earth and slipped away to rejoin his wife of 66 years in their heavenly home. He waited patiently his last eleven months with us, while Betty Jo made things "just so" in anticipation of his arrival, and I am sure in my heart that they are holding hands and smiling, unencumbered by the physical and mental maladies that had confounded and perplexed them in their later years.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Johnson who passed one year prior him on March 30, 2023, and foster son, Casey Ahkvaluk on July 25, 2017. He is survived by his three brothers, Bob, Rod and Bert all residing in Wyoming and his children, Vicki Giampietro, Dotti Loaiza (Tom), Jim Johnson (Cheryce), Rob Johnson, Dennis Johnson (Sara), Becky Matumeak and Patrick Ahkvaluk all with their own children who are scattered about the country like seeds creating and infinite crop of grand, and great-grandchildren everywhere they are planted.
Frank was a man of commitment and integrity who loved deeply and provided for his family long after his children were grown. He always found a way to help those in need. His droll sense of humor and wry smile would often accompany his conversations while he perused the circumstances and tried to formulate a plan that would assist you in a moment of need. He was in truth a saint, just wrapped in the body of an ornery Wyoming cowboy.
Frank was a builder at heart. He built the Johnson home starting in 1969 and finished … well, it never really was finished. There was always another project to do. A bathroom to add, a bedroom to extend, a kitchen to remodel, a fireplace to move or rearrange, add a sewing room for Betty or add an office for bookwork, change the heating system, change the plumbing system, add an apartment under the main wing, change the pitch of the roof. This house was a labor of love, perpetuated by his creativity, and gave him a reason to build. Frank didn't only build with his hands he built many relationships within his community. His self-effacing attitude interlaced with his integrity and a genuine love that came from the heart, endeared him to most people he came in contact with.
If you are one of these people, we would be blessed to have you attend his funeral, and celebrate his life, at 10:30 a.m. on June 22 at Saint Raphael Church. His burial will follow that afternoon at Northern Lights Cemetery.
