Warner Paul Obituary

Warner Paul peacefully passed at his home surrounded by his family March 25, 2011.
He was born Jan. 6, 1929. His biological parents were Andrew and Agnes Pitka.
Warner married Justine Malemute in the early 1940s.
He grew up in Galena and lived a subsistence lifestyle. He and his wife spent winters trapping at the Yuki River. In summer 1988, he built a cabin at the mouth of the Yuki River, which he truly loved and always went to every summer and fall.
He worked as an EFF Fire Fighter for BLM, worked on the Ramona Barge line for the late Claude Demientieff and worked numerous laborer jobs throughout his life. He loved to dance to fiddle music and was known to be a smooth dancer. His hobby was Bingo so he could be out visiting people, though he seldom won. He won four Halloween costume contests at Youth Sports Bingo - dressed as the 1958 Bingo Queen; 50 Cent (Rap singer), Elvis and Pirate of the Caribbean.
He is survived by sisters, Angela (Sidney) Huntington and Virginia Johnson; sisters-in-law Laura Pitka and Annie Dayton; brother David Henry; daughters: Debra (Buddy) Barbee, Euphrasia (Peter) Demoski, Mary (Franklin) Richards, and Mitzi Smith; son Richard Paul and son-in-law Ronald Dees; his granddaughters, Denise (John Lowe) Callahan, Angela (Josh) Rutman, Justina Demoski, Doreen (Dylan Maisner) Paul, Jessica and Amelia Paul, Shelia and Brittany Richards, and Morgan Turner; grandsons, Joseph Jr , Conrad and Patrick Turner, Quentin and Gareth Demoski, Robert and Franklin Richards; great-granddaughters, Kyonia Callahan, Destiny and Sienna Demoski, Natajae Richards, and Lexi Lowe; great-grandsons: Michael and Leon Callahan, Gavin Jackson, Kaiden Rutman and Bradedon Merly-Demoski; God children: Rhonda McCarty and Clayton Benson, and numerous nieces and nephews and great friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Justine (Malemute) Paul; sons, Leonard, Gilbert, Raymond, and Norman Paul, and Louis Bo Nelson; daughters, Doris and Sandra Paul; sister Virginia Pitka and brother Edward Pitka; grandsons, Marvin and Peter Curtis Demoski and Steven J. Callahan.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. today, March 29, in Galena. Burial will take place at Old Louden.
Arrangements were entrusted to Chapel of Chimes Funeral Home.

My heart goes out to Deb and the girls. I'm so happy that everyone liked Uncle Warner. He was such a happy go lucky guy. But I know the girls will miss him. Just know that he is now with Auntie Justine, his sisters and brothers as well as his children who went before him. What a reunion that must have been. Much love and blessings.
