William W. "Bill" Buzby

William "Bill" W. Buzby, 77 of Wasilla, died Monday, Sept. 27, 2010, at Mat-Su Regional Hospital.  
Bill was born in Fairbanks to Robert and Mildred "Tiny" Buzby, a longtime Alaska pioneer.
The family moved from Fairbanks to Palmer in 1949. He graduated from Palmer High School in 1951. William worked for Bob Milkie and Consolidated Freight, hauling produce around the state. Bill married Judith Bryant of Palmer in 1956, and they had four children, Dwight, Brenda, Brian and Denise.
He worked for Herman Brothers Construction Company from 1960 to 1988 as a heavy equipment operator, mechanic and shop foreman, He retired in 1988 from Herman Brothers Construction Company and the Operating Engineers Local 302.
Bill and Judith divorced in 1976. He married Barbara (Brewster) Holeman of Anchorage in 1978. Barbara had two sons, Curtis and Perry Holeman.
William loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time at the family's camp in the Alaska Range with his family and friends. Bill's family always came first.
Bill is survived by his wife Barbara; mother, Mildred "Tiny"; brothers, Ed Buzby of Fairbanks and Dennis of Palmer; sister, Alice Sims of Wasilla; son, Dwight (Karen) of Fairbanks; daughter, Brenda "Arie" of Bakersfield, Calif.; son, Brian (Suzanne) of Wasilla; stepsons, Curtis and Perry Holeman of Anchorage. He also is survived by 15 grand children and 18 great-grandchildren, with a boatload of aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and cousins.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Buzby and his daughter, Denise Buzby.
A celebration of Bill's life will be announced at a later date.
